Strategic or Media Planner???

saya suka mendapat pertanyaan apa sih bedanya strategic planner sama media planner?

saya juga bingung, haha 2 bulan saya magang, saya belum ngerti bedanya. mungkin karna di kantor saya waktu itu emang ga ada strategic plannernya kali ya..

tapi tadi pagi saya kebangun terus kepikiran apa bedanya, iseng 2 wiki-ing dan ini kata diaa :

  • Strategic Planner

Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. Various business analysis techniques can be used in strategic planning, including SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats ), PEST analysis (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological), STEER analysis (Socio-cultural, Technological, Economic, Ecological, and Regulatory factors), and EPISTEL (Environment, Political, Informatic, Social, Technological, Economic and Legal).

Strategic planning is the formal consideration of an organization's future course. All strategic planning deals with at least one of three key questions:

1. "What do we do?"

2. "For whom do we do it?"

3. "How do we excel?"

In business strategic planning, the third question is better phrased "How can we beat or avoid competition?". (Bradford and Duncan, page 1).

kalo menurut buku Advertising : principle & Practice (Wells Burnett Moriarty)

Strategic Planning is the process of determining objectives (what you want to accomplish), deciding on strategies (how to accomplish the objectives), and implementing the tactics (which make the plan come to life). An objective is a goal to be accomplished (the destinantion). A strategy is the means by which the objectives is accomplished ( the route to the destination).

berarti kalo strategic planner orang orang yang mikirin apa yang akan perusahaan itu lakukan, untuk siapa mereka melakukan pekerjaan itu, bagaimana mereka bisa unggul dan bagaimana mereka akan mengalahkan atau mencegah kompetisi.

  • Media Planner

Media Planner is a job title in an advertising agency or media planning and buying agency[1], responsible for selecting media for advertisement placement on behalf of their clients. The main aim of a Media Planner is to assist their client in achieving business objectives through their advertising budgets by recommending the best possible use of various media platforms available to advertisers[2]. Their roles may include analyzing target audiences, keeping abreast of media developments, reading market trends and understanding motivations of consumers (often including psychology and neuroscience).

again, kalo menurut buku Advertising : principle & Practice (Wells Burnett Moriarty)

Media Planning is the process of determining how to use time and space to achieve advertising objectives. one of those objectives is always to place the advertising message before a target audience. Media Planning demands the biggest portions of the advertiser's budget.

jadi Media Planner itu lebih ke pesan/ iklan yang mau dilepas ke target audience. dia yang ngabisin budget deh pokoknya (kata beberapa orang kantor saya dulu). dia yang nentuin mau dipasang dimana iklannya, lewat media apa aja (tv, majalah, internet, billboard dll). biar achieve, dia musti bisa membaca tren dan motivasi konsumen (jadi inget kuliah Managemen Bisnis Medianya Pak Rakhman kan??) dan dia musti up to date banget sama perkembangan media.

ternyata mereka berdua beda banget yaaaaa...

pengalaman gw magang di advertising, emg bener kaya gitu ntii.

mungkin bisa dibilang kl strategic planner itu lebih ke atasannya si media planner kali yaa, lebih ngeanalisis antar perusahaan media.
kl media planner, yg lo bilang tadi lebih mikirin mau ditempatin di media mana aja tuh si iklan. pengalaman gw di media agency, karena dya lebih fokus di digitalnya, jd peran si media planner itu lebih mikirin si iklan itu nantinya mau ditempatin di situs mana aja, letaknya dimana aja, sampe tanngal live nya si iklan.

hai, salam kenal, dlm penerapanny pengotak2an profesi & scope pekerjaan spt itu seringkali tidak terlihat, dlm artian satu orang bs melakukan bbg macam pekerjaan atau multitasking, apalgi klo di perusahaan skala menengah..
